Extra MSA Group is a leading owner and operator of Motorway Service Areas (MSAs) and has been granted outline approval to deliver Warrington Services at Junction 11 of the M62.

Since our proposals were approved, we have been busy working to get everything ready to build the new Motorway Service Area. As part of this preparatory process, we have recently submitted our proposals for altering the alignment of a public footpath. This will in no way affect public access and indeed, it will ensure that the realigned footpath is of a better standard for those using it.

If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us: warringtonextraservices@social.co.uk

Before the submission of our planning application in 2019, we undertook public consultation on our draft plans and hundreds of local residents attended the public exhibitions to share their thoughts on the proposals and speak with the project team.

We are committed to keeping local groups, organisations, statutory bodies and individuals up to date with our proposals as our plans progress. During 2023, we will continue our work to ensure everything is in place to commence building work on this ‘new concept’ MSA as soon as possible. You might see some activity at or near the site, whilst our teams make further assessments and undertake preparatory work. We will continue to update the website with any major milestones in our project.

Warrington MSA will meet a Public Safety Need initially identified by National Highways, delivering hundreds of local jobs, support for apprenticeships and local employment initiatives whilst combining world-class design with a range of ancillary food & beverage, retail and hotel facilities.

The proposals will deliver a number of key benefits for the local community and wider area.

Motorway Service Areas play a key role in ensuring the safety and welfare of drivers and their passengers.
